airplane problems can be a good thing

for those that had to miss a show due the the ashcloud a few weeks ago, and for those that are about to get in problems because of the new flight cancellations: problems with flights can be a good thing too. as sharron kraus mentions in the latest issue of the morc-zine: the album ‘travellers two’ by tau emerald wouldn’t not have been recorded is she and tara burke of fursaxa would not have had some problems at the airport.

‘I think most musicians who travel in Europe have horror stories concerning Ryanair, and Tara and I were due to travel to Finland with them, got held up in traffic and got to the airport 5 minutes after the checkin desks closed.

They wouldn’t let us through, even though the flight wasn’t due to leave for another 40 minutes. There wasn’t another flight till the next day, and we’d have to pay all over again - couldn’t just transfer our tickets.

We were a bit annoyed and trying to decide whether to loiter in the airport for 24 hours, or drive back to Oxford and then return. In the end we decided to give up on the trip - we’d miss 2 out of 3 gigs we were scheduled to play by the time we got there anyway - and stay in Oxford for the week and record.

the album travellers two came out on important records about two years ago, and is still available there.  the full interview is available in the printed edition of the morczine - we still have -free- copies available.
