The original sin

a good thing that it’s not just bands working on ‘comebacks’. after being quiet for a couple of years, The original sin has resurfaced as a webzine.
didier was the first one to pay attention to a bunch of morc-bands (i recall reviews of eg circle bros, zent one, astroboy…) - and it’s thanks to him i got in touch with fine folks like mark ritchie (of kaw tapes, ritch cunningham etc), michael j hex… and it was the place where i first read a minmae or a drekka review. in which didier suggested ‘this could be something for morc’. it took a couple more years before i got to know drekka, but didier was too right…
ok, didier was always too kind for acts he reviewed. but in his own words: ‘only reviewed a band when I thought it was good, when it sucked I decided not to write about it. why would I write a bad review about some band who made a demotape that’s been printed on 100 copies?’ so off course, you couldn’t like everything he writes about. but even then, it was still a very amusing read…
around 1997-2000, 33 printed original sins were published. they were spread in an ediiton of 200-500 copies, all paid out of didiers own pocket. so we understand why he now chooses to make it a free webzine. however, we still want to see that smiley back on the orginal sin-site!
having said this, i’m still looking for issues 1-3; 5-10, 17, 21 :-)
